Wewa cyclist struck by car

A 30-year -old Wewahitchka man, bicycling north on State Route 7 just before 5 p.m. Monday, was struck by a car and rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the bicyclist was cycling north in the southbound bicycle lane, which is the wrong direction in the bicycle lane, at about 4:40 p.m.

A sedan, driven by a 56-year-old Panama City woman, was turning left onto State Road 22 from State Road 71, and the front left side collided with the bicyclist.



She was unhurt. He was transported to Ascension Sacred Heart with serious injuries.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
