This weekend in Gulf and Franklin

It’s going to be a busy weekend in Gulf and Franklin Counties.

 

Carrabelle Riverfront Festival Saturday

The 32nd Annual Carrabelle Riverfront Festival is this Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with plenty of activities along the harbor. This event is free and pet friendly. Come watch the Soccer Collies, a group of rescued  border collies playing soccer.

There will be a children’s nautical and coastal-themed costume contest for kids up to age 15. The children’s mini-train rides and bouncy house will be back, along with Fishy Fashion Show. Talented musicians will perform all day, and there will be dance performances by the TCC Dance Company and the Dancing Witches. 

There’ s the Exhibitor Expo on Avenue B, hosted by the Carrabelle History Museum, plus more than 80 festival vendors, exhibitors, and booths, and lots of yummy food.

WindMark Beach Block Party

Enjoy an afternoon outside exploring the WindMark Beach community. Enjoy live music, test ride a YOLO bike along the BeachWalk, tour the D.R. Horton Model Home, and more. The first 50 families to visit all of the designated WindMark Beach Block Party locations will receive a goodie bag which includes one free lunch buffet from WindMark Beach Bruno’s Pizza. The event will be held starting at noon on Saturday, April 22.

 

See “Nunsense” at Chapman Theater

“Nunsense – The Mega-Musical” is at the Chapman Theatre in Apalachicola on Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 3, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be obtained at www.panhandleplayers.org.

 

Learn about the Marshall Brothers Saturday

The Apalachicola Area Historical Society is presenting a program on “Marshall Brothers: Architects, Boatwrights and Pillars of the Community” featuring Marshall family descendants, Donia Smith and Ken Tucker, on Saturday, April 22, at 4 p.m. at the Raney Carriage House, 126 Market Street, Apalachicola.

 

Visit the Community Garden on Earth Day

The Port St. Joe Community Garden will be hosting a community work day on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in honor of Earth Day. Volunteers are asked to come help clean up the facility. Quilt show Saturday in Carrabelle

The Airing of the Quilts, a free quilt show with an opportunity to purchase, will be hosted by the Wandering Star Quilters this Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at George Sand Park in Carrabelle. For more info call 406-660-0760

 

Out of this World exhibit

Apalach Farmers Market Saturday

SGI Brewfest Saturday
