“American Pickers” is coming to Florida

The hit television show “American Pickers” is returning to Florida in December and is looking for places to pick through rare and collectible items.

Episodes of The History Channel series will be filmed throughout the month of December in various locations throughout the state. The pickers are looking for unique and sizable collections they can spend the better part of the day going through and learning of the stories behind them.

The pickers’ mission is to find valuable antiques that can be recycled and to rescue long-forgotten relics and to discover more about America’s past. Meeting different characters that have impressive collections is always exciting for the pickers.



According to a press release from producers, they hope to give historically significant objects a new lease on life. The pickers are ready to find extraordinary items and hear fascinating tales about them.

Meet the Editor

David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
