Water supply turned off for City of Port St. Joe

Due to a water main break, the water supply for the City of Port St. Joe has been shut off for a few hours. Nort Port St. Joe will not lose water.

Because of the lack of water supply, Gulf District Schools announced that their Port St. Joe schools will be closing for the remainder of the day.

When the water is turned back on, there will be a boil water notice in effect for all city customers between 1st Street and Gulf Coast Community College. Boil water notice tips can be found on the City’s website at this link.



City Hall was not yet able to provide an estimate of when the water supply would be turned back on when contacted.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
