Larry named to 2nd team All-State hoops

Last week, the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches – “The Voice of Florida Basketball” – announced the 2020-21 boys and girls All-State teams for all seven classifications.

Port St. Joe’s own Mimi Larry was named to the Girls 2nd Team in Class 1A.

A varsity starter since her eighth grade year, Larry scored an average of 11.7 points per game along with 4.3 rebounds per game.





She also dished out an average of 2.3 assists per game, and blocked 1.3 shots while making 2.6 steals.

Larry and her teammates hope to improve on last season’s 14-8 record during her senior year.



Meet the Editor

David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
