On Friday evening, on the Wewahitchka High School football field, 49 graduates walked across the stage to shake hands with the principal and the superintendent and receive their diplomas.
Following a processional to “Pomp and Circumstance,” Haley Guffey offered the invocational, and Alex Williams, the class of 2022’s vice president, led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Senior Class Treasurer Jaiyden Scruggs offered a welcome address, followed by remarks from Superintendent Jim Norton.
Graduating Summa Cum Laude, with highest honors, were Shelby Geary, Haley Guffey, Danielle Harrison, Caroline Hysmith, Morgan Mayhann, Destiny Palmer, Taylor Roberts, Jaiyden Scruggs, Katie Shealy, Chelsi Sorensen and Caden Wooten.
Magna Cum Laude graduates, those with high honors, were Jillian Driggers, Eva Flowers and Oscar Hysmith.
Cum Laude graduates, with honors, were Zoe Connor, Kaylee Easter, Zander Hanlon, Luke Hjort, Anna McGlon, Bailey Pitts and Hanna Taunton.
More than $400,000 was given in scholarships from community organizations and post-secondary institutions.
Following the presentation of scholarships, honors grads and Hall of Fame members, Class President Morgan Mayhann gave the graduation address.
Then, the class was awarded their diplomas.
The ceremony concluded with a farewell address from Katie Shealy, a singing of the alma mater, a benediction by Destiny Palmer and a recessional.
