South Gulf Fire Rescue to carry pet first aid supplies

Beginning this month, all South Gulf Fire Rescue emergency vehicles will be carrying life saving pet first aid kits.

The kits were assembled by SGFR team members Jennifer Mobley and Carter Foy.

Each kit contains three sizes of O2 masks for both cats and dogs, received from Invisible Fence of North Florida. Also included is water, bandages, wound cleansers, hot/cold packs and wraps for Pet First Aid courtesy of SGCVFD, Inc, the 501-C-3 nonprofit that supports South Gulf Fire Rescue, and an anonymous donor on Cape San Blas.

“Our goal here at South Gulf Fire Rescue is to save lives,” said SGFR’s Fire Chief Mike Barrett, “whether they walk on two legs or four legs.”
