Timothy “Tim” Jack Chastain

Date of Death

Timothy “Tim” Jack Chastain of Wewahitchka, Florida, 5ft 10in of pure Southern charm and questionable sarcasm, passed away on April 1st, 2024. It appears this wasn’t an elaborate April Fool’s joke.

Tim, a retired from the Air Force of almost 25 years is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and JoAnn Chastain, his siblings Debbie, Jeff, and Jody and their families, and his in-laws, Pearl and Ralph Via.

Tim leaves behind his closest friends including his work family at Smileys Honey, and most importantly his wife, Sunny McGill-Chastain, the woman who somehow tolerated his antics for almost 24 years and his daughters Amy and Ashley (who have inherited his terrible jokes and questionable sense of humor), including a whole bunch of grandkids who will surely miss their pop’s stories (most of which were probably true).

To celebrate Tim’s life, a legacy of laughter and tall tales (some may say taller than him), the family asks that you take a moment today, tell your best Tim story, and remember the man who taught us all that life is best served with a laugh, an oversized cup of mountain dew and shades, because let’s face it, a funeral just wouldn’t be Tim’s style.

Tim Chastain will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but we know he is up there making everyone laugh. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Tunnel to Towers Foundation for America’s Heroes at http://www.t2t.org.
