Roy V Harper, aged 79, of White City and Okeechobee, Florida passed away peacefully at home January 13, 2024. Roy V was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by a large extended family along with loyal friends who became his chosen family.

Roy V was born December 16, 1944 to the late Roy Harper Sr and Ardelle Nash Harper. He was also preceded in death by his only son, Roy V Harper III and his grandson Austin.

Roy V’s life was marked by his dedication to serving his country. At 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, embarking on a life of adventure which would take him around the globe. His journey continued later with the U.S. Coast Guard, ultimately retiring with honor.

Following his military career, Roy V, alongside his beloved wife Sarah, created a successful seafood business in the Florida Keys. Upon his second retirement, they returned to White City, where Roy V enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and his pawn shop. Throughout his life he spent countless hours reading and collecting books.

Roy V was a member of White City Baptist Church from an early age. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor his remarkable legacy.
