Paul Leon Dotson, 89 passed away on August 10, 2023 in Cleveland, Georgia. He was born January 27, 1934 in Memphis Tennessee to the late Dewey L Dotson ( WWI Veteran) and Myrtle Dotson. He was also predeceased in death by his brother, Dewey L. Dotson, Jr. and his sister, Lucille McKinney (Darcy).

Paul grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. He served two years in the U.S. Army and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1970. Paul was Vice President and Branch Manager of both the Atlanta residential and commercial division of the Kissell Company, a subsidiary of Pittsburgh National Bank. He was the founder (June 1982) and owner of Mid-American Mortgage Corp. where he brokered commercial loans for shopping centers, high-rise condos and apartments buildings in and outside of the Atlanta area until he retired in 2005. Paul was highly thought of in the mortgage business and had many life-long friends. He was the sponson of a Girls Little League Soft Ball Team and was a very generous and thoughtful person. Any child that came to the door raising money for a cause never went away empty handed. Paul and his wife, Katrina traveled extensively to foreign countries in the ’80s and in later years enjoyed twenty-seven cruises. He enjoyed purchasing souvenirs at the ports of call to give to the neighborhood children upon his return. Nassau was Paul’s favorite island which he visited many, many times. He always enjoyed listening to music.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Katrina Farris Dotson; son, Christopher P. Dotson (Heidi); two grandchildren, Tyler Dotson (Kara) and Jessie Barnfield; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on August 20, 2024 at Barnett Funeral Home in Cleveland, Georgia.
