Katrine Paul Rogers, more affectionately known as Katie, age 86 of White City, Florida passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 with her granddaughter and grandson in Enterprise, Alabama. She was born in Holmes County, Florida on February 28, 1937 to the late Johnny William Paul and Tommie Ola Phillips Paul. Katie grew up in Bonifay, Florida and graduated from Bonifay High School. She married Gene Tunny Rogers on November 2, 1957 and moved to White City, Florida where she would reside for the next sixty-five years. Katie became a caretaker and friend to all of her neighbors. Her passion was helping others and lending a hand to those in need. Over the years Katie made a life as a homemaker taking care of her family and teaching herself many skills that she excelled at. She could paint a house, sew a dress, grow a garden, make a quilt, and accomplish anything else in life that she wanted to do. One of Katie’s greatest gifts was cooking and cake decorating. She also enjoyed crocheting, plastic canvas, making beautiful photo albums and other arts and crafts.
Mrs Katie will be remembered as an amazing mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend that never met a stranger. She loved her family, friends, and community dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene Tunny Rogers; four sisters, Eulah Pulley, Dee Ethel Pegg, Evelyn Barlow, and Lorine Paul and three brothers, Louis Franklin Paul, Henry Hubert Paul, and Wayne Paul.
Katie is survived by one daughter, Gail Rogers Blackmon (Doyle Gaylor); one sister, Millie Stoker; three grandchildren, Stephanie Bailey (Chip), Brad Blackmon, and Neva Elizabeth Blackmon; special niece, Cathy Adams, and five great grandchildren, Aubry Bailey, Whitlee Blackmon, Joseph Cooper, Joshua Cooper, and Neva Jolynn Marie Baker. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
