Jimmy Wayne Parrish of Wewahitchka, Florida passed away on May 11, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Albany, Georgia to James and Leona Parrish.

He loved any occasion to celebrate life with family and friends. He was a practicing attorney in Albany, Georgia until a heart attack, he was a 31-year heart transplant survivor. He was an avid outdoorsman, with a passion for fishing. Wayne loved every second, every minute and every hour of the day. Even in his sickest days, he always thanked God for a new day, his blessings, his wife and his dog, Ila Jean. He loved deeply his family and friends and always told them he loved them. He had a larger-than-life personality. Family and friends will always remember him with great admiration and love. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Elaine Parrish; his son, Judson Wayne Parrish; his stepdaughter, Kelly Wren Hooten and her husband, David; his grandson, Grant Hooten and his wife Kaylee; his great grandchildren, Easton Beck and Ellie Hooten. He is also survived by a special cousin, Jan Parker, but more like a sister; in-laws, Nancy and Sherrel Bees – Jimmy and Diane Montgomery – Don and Melinda Hicks and Jeff and Jackie Hicks; sister-in-law, Patricia Hicks and many much-loved nieces and nephews along with Wewahitchka neighbors and friends that he dearly loved.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Wayne requested a big party in his honor.
