1977.
Survivors include: her husband, George Newman of Cairo, GA; children, Steve Newman

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents.
Deborah enjoyed her 47-year marriage to George S. Newman.
She worked as a respected builder in Cape San Blas, Indian Pass, St. George Island, and
surrounding areas, helping many families fulfill their dream of having a home on the coast. Upon retirement, she and George moved back to their hometown of Cairo, Georgia where they spent time together on their beloved farm. Most mornings, one would find Deborah in her garden or greenhouse. She had a remarkable green thumb and loved sharing the fruits of her labor with her friends and family. You never left her place without an armful of vegetables or perhaps a jar of mayhaw jelly. If not in her garden, Deborah could be found in her kitchen cooking up amazing meals. She was an avid cook and loved to feed anyone stopping by—her German chocolate cakes were legendary!
Deborah had an easy smile, a quick laugh, a helping hand, and a loving heart. She was of the Methodist faith, loved God, her family, a good rain on her garden, and the Georgia Bulldogs. She will be remembered and missed by all.
A family memorial will be held at a later date. Memorials to Deborah Newman can be made in support of hurricane relief by mail to: American Red Cross, P. O. Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037; or www.redcross.org/donate/donation.html. Guests may sign the online register at www.clarkfuneral.com .
