David E. Young, age 83, of Port St. Joe, FL passed away on March 3, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. He was under the care of Emerald Coast Hospice. David was born in Knoxville, TN. He later relocated to the Central GA area where he retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base as a civil servant. David moved to Port St. Joe, FL in 1999. He was a member of First Baptist Church Port St. Joe, then moved his letter to First Baptist Church Mexico Beach. David loved the Lord, his family, fishing and Georgia Bulldogs. He is preceded in death by his parents Percy Young and Hazel Young and his grandson Shane Brandon. He is survived by his wife of 28 years Gail Young, daughter Angie Hardy (Ian Hardy) and son Michael Brandon (Rhonda Brandon). He has 7 grandchildren, Emerald Hardy, Briana Hardy, Reina Hardy, Connor Hardy, Katie Hoffman, Cameron Matthews and Sklyar Matthews. He has one great grand son James Hardy.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church Mexico Beach, FL on March 22, 2025 at 2pm CST. Services will be performed by interim past Daniel Johnson. No graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in David’s honor to the First Baptist Church’s Mission Board to help spread the love of Jesus Christ.
