Billy Wayne “Coach” Flowers
Date of Death
It is with heavy hearts and a profound sadness that we announce the passing of Billy Wayne “Coach” Flowers, a beloved father, coach, and friend, on March 23, 2025, at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay in Panama City, FL. He was an outspoken pillar of strength, guidance, and goodwill for his family & countless others, always putting their needs first. As a lifelong athlete and Troy University Alumnus, he will also be forever celebrated as a 1973 Quarterback All-Time Letterwinner, further leading him down the unforgettable path that had already seemed to be set in stone years ago. Wayne continued to move forward with the ever-growing determination that would lead him to inspire countless young athletes with his passion and dedication, teaching them not only the game but also the importance of teamwork, camaraderie, and sportsmanship. His acts of both selflessness and heartfelt dedication throughout the years finally gave Coach his own personal and spiritual way to reflect back onto the parts of his life many years before. He was always so “daddgum” overjoyed anytime there was a story to tell, a chance to share a funny memory or three. Billy Wayne Flowers was preceded in death by his mother, Foy Flowers and father, Richard Flowers. He will be deeply missed by his children, Adam Flowers, Nichole Lance-Smith, Taylor Frey, Sandra Flowers (former wife & mother to his children), his eldest son, Brad Flowers, brother Richard Flowers, grandchildren, Finn Cleversey and Taylor Flowers, and the countless other lives he touched. A memorial service will be held at the Wewahitchka High School football field on April 18th, 2025 at 4:30 pm Central Time. God Bless
