Gulf County Sheriff searching for missing woman

UPDATE: Hoefker was located in Bay County on Dec. 21.

The Gulf County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in their search for a missing Highland View woman.



Anna Margaret Hoefker, 44, was last seen at 2:22 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19 at her residence in the 500 block of Dolphin Street in Highland View. She is believed to be driving a beige 2011 Buick Lucerne 4-door and may possibly be in the Bay County area.

Hoefker is aproximately 5’08” and 150 pounds according to a release from GCSO. She has blond hair and was last seen wearing gray clothing.

If you have any information on Hoefker’s whereabouts, you are asked to call GCSO at 850-227-1115 (option 4) or your local law enforcement agency.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
