Gulf County man arrested in Panama City Beach child sex trafficking sting
A Wewahitchka man was arrested in a child sex trafficking sting in Panama City Beach last week, according to a release from Panama City Beach Police.
Quentin Schuyler Oats Carter, 28, was charged with traveling to meet a minor for sexual activity, solicitation of a child for sexual activities and the use of a two-way communication device.
Authorities arrested 20 other men in the sting, called Operation Rogue Wave, which began on May 18 and ended on May 22. Nineteen of those arrested arrested are from the Panhandle.
“If this doesn’t represent the threat that our children are facing I don’t know what does. We’ve said this time and time and time again, the internet is not a safe place. It is not a place our children need to be unsupervised,” PCBPD Police Chief J.R. Talamantez told our media partners at WMBB.
Carter is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
