Annual Christmas Parade to be held on Dec. 11
The Port St. Joe community will hold their annual Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. Eastern in Downtown Port St. Joe.
Admission is free to all. Those who arrive early are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets along with them.
City Clerk Charlotte Pierce said that over 90 groups had signed up to participate and that she expected this to be one of the largest CHristmas parades in the town’s history.
Judging of the floats will begin in the staging area at 5 p.m., and there will be awards presented in four categories: schools and non-profit, family and friends, business and faith-based.
Immediately following the parade, visitors will be able to take photos with Santa in the gazebo outside City Hall.
The city has asked that to maintain safety, candy not be thrown from floats or vehicles. However, it may be passed out by walkers in the parade.
