District garden clubs to join ‘Run for the Roses’

On Saturday, May 3, District 2 of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, which includes the Port St. Joe Garden Club and others throughout seven counties, will host a fundraiser “Run for the Roses,” at the historic Robert’s Hall in Lynn Haven from 1 to 4 p.m. CT.

Highlighting the event will be a fashion show, in which each club will present three models adorned in outfits from local boutiques, showcasing styles perfect for sporty occasions, tea parties, and race day celebrations. The creativity and flair of these ensembles are designed to capture the essence of the season. The Port St. Joe Garden Club will have Fuss, Accessorize and St. Joseph Bay Golf Club Pro shop as its featured vendors.

No Kentucky Derby-themed event would be complete without fabulous hats, so attendees will have the opportunity to bid on an array of derby hats, adding a touch of glamour to their own wardrobes while supporting a great cause.

Tickets for this exclusive event are $40 each, with a limited availability of 100 tickets. Each ticket includes event entry, a chance to shop at garden club craft venues, a boxed charcuterie board with drinks, a Derby hat auction and a surprise-filled swag bag.

Funds raised from “Run for the Roses” will go to support educational and speaker events for the district.

Secure your tickets by calling Sarah Darden, former president of the Port St. Joe Garden Club, at (229) 942-1414.
