Enjoy Big Top Bunny Hop at Lake Alice Saturday
Get ready for an egg-citing adventure at Lake Alice Park this Saturday, April 12 as the GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club hosts the Big Top Bunny Hop from 9:30 a.m. to noon CT. This family-friendly event will feature lots of free carnival-style games, including a dunking booth. See if you can hit the bullseye and dunk a surprise guest! Free popcorn and cotton candy, exciting prizes, meet the Easter Bunny. Get your picture taken with the bunny himself!

The History Mystery Scavenger Hunt is a fantastic way to learn about Wewahitchka’s rich history in preparation for the city of Wewahitchka’s 150th anniversary celebration on June 7! Clues have been posted daily since April 1 on the GFWC Wewahitchka’s Facebook page, guiding participants on a historical journey through town.
Grab a parent, grandparent, or friend who can drive, and set off on this fun adventure. Uncover hidden locations, decode secret messages, and discover fascinating facts about Wewahitchka. Prizes await those who complete the hunt, but you must start with Clue #1 to participate. For questions, please message or text 850-688-5546. Prizes will be awarded at the festivities at Lake Alice April 12 at noon.
Meet the Editor
David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
