Designer Purse Bingo a hit, next comes Duck Derby
For 88 years, the GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club has been a pillar of service and dedication in our community. As a proud member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, our club strives to enhance the lives of others through volunteer efforts, advocacy, and leadership development.
Our recent Designer Purse Bingo fundraiser was a resounding success, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making it a fantastic event. Special thanks to our purse sponsors: New Wave Property Management, Waves & Woods Realty, Port Realty Group – Laura Baxley, and Fisher’s Building Supply. We also appreciate our food sponsors: Panama City Coca-Cola, Flowers Foods, Sam’s Club, Buffalo Rock, and all our members who baked goodies. A huge thank you to the Gulf County Board of County Commissioners for their support.
This fundraiser will help us continue to support our many projects for the community. Our Mardi Gras theme added a festive flair, but while decorating and preparing the venue, our clubwomen wore red to raise awareness for heart disease – the number one killer of women. We were thrilled to have our sister clubs from Chipley and Marianna join us for Bingo, along with all the other attendees who made the event so special.
Mark your calendars for our next exciting fundraiser – the Community Wide Duck Derby on Saturday, March 8 at Lake Alice from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. CT. The Wewa High Cross Country Team will kick off the event with the “Lace Up for the Quackin’ Fun” 5K race at 9 a.m.
Many thanks to our Struttin’ Duck Sponsors: Firework Factory, Emerald Coast Hospice Care, Miller Heating & Air Conditioning Inc., Fisher’s Building Supply, Emerald Coast Federal Credit Union, 98 Real Estate Group.
Our Super Duck Sponsors include: Shorty’s Tire & Auto Repair, Tyndall Federal Credit Union, You Should See What I Saw, Waves & Woods Realty, LLC, Current Solutions, Adrian Welle with Travel by Georgia, and Gulf County Realty, Inc. A big shoutout to our Quacker Backer Sponsors: Natalie Shoaf, Realtor, and James Taunton Construction, LLC.
This is our second annual Duck Derby, and it promises to be a day full of fun! Come out and enjoy our vendors, family-friendly activities, and the thrilling duck race across Lake Alice. The grand prize winner will take home $500, with many other prizes up for grabs throughout the event.
You can “adopt” your duck from any Wewahitchka Woman’s Club member; don’t miss out on this quack-tastic opportunity!
Membership in the woman’s club offers numerous benefits, including personal growth, networking opportunities, and the chance to be part of a global volunteer movement. Whether you’re passionate about community service, leadership, or making new friends, our club welcomes you!
Join us in continuing the tradition of service and leadership that defines the GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club. To learn more or become a member, visit our meetings or reach out to us on social media. Together, we can create a brighter future for Wewahitchka and beyond!
