Parade Saturday, cake and pie auction commences
The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club celebrated the end of the year in style with a lively and laughter-filled meeting. Event Coordinator LeAnne Coulter did a fantastic job organizing an evening of joy, games, and festive cheer, packed with activities, including cookie decorating, playful games, and an entertaining mystery skit “Who Stole Santa’s Toys?” Members enjoyed a delicious potluck dinner provided by their talented cooks and exchanged gifts, making it a memorable celebration for all.
Adding to the holiday spirit, the club showcased their creativity and teamwork with a beautifully designed Christmas float that made its grand debut at Port St. Joe’s Christmas on the Coast parade. The float, crafted by the club’s “Duck Commander in Chief” Michele Gionet and her dedicated “duck crew” Carrie Strump and Dana Montenieri, was a showstopper. Club members joined in the parade festivities by distributing candy and flyers for their upcoming Duck Derby Community Event.
The holiday fun doesn’t stop there! The club is gearing up for the City of Wewahitchka’s Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 21. Be sure to stop by Christmas at the Courthouse immediately following the parade, where club members will have homemade baked cookies and opportunities to “adopt” a duck for the Duck Derby. With a $5 donation, you’ll support this fun event and contribute to local nonprofits.
Don’t miss the club’s annual online Christmas Cake and Pie Auction, running Friday through Monday, Dec. 20 to 23. It’s the perfect opportunity to skip the holiday baking and grab a ready-to-serve dessert made with love by members of the community.
With fun, food, and festive giving, GFWC Wewahitchka is ending the year on a high note while continuing to support and uplift the community. Join in the holiday celebrations and make a difference this season!
