A helping hand for distressed deputies

On Oct 10, the South Gulf County Volunteer Fire Department’s non-profit organization presented a $1,000 check to Gulf County Sheriff Mike Harrison, earmarked for the Florida Sheriffs Association’s Lend a Hand Fund, which assists Florida sheriff deputies, whose homes may have been damaged by recent hurricanes or flooding.

“Those same sheriff deputies are out on patrol protecting our Florida communities, residents and visitors during recent devastating storms,” said Patrick Foy, board member, pictured at right with Harrison. “This upcoming Memorial Day weekend, when you take home a great Boston butt from our South Gulf Fire annual butt roast, it’s good to know that your purchase is also helping us to help others in our Florida community.”
