Fountain woman dies in motorcycle crash

A motorcycle accident in Wewahitchka Sunday evening took the life of a Fountain woman, and sent a Fountain man to the hospital in critical condition.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 7:26 p.m. CT when a 56-year-old Fountain man was driving a motorcycle northbound on County Road 5, near the intersection of State Route 22, with a 56-year-old Fountain woman as a passenger.

The motorcycle crossed the center line and traveled off the roadway  to the left, before it overturned, and both individuals, each wearing Florida Department of Transportation complaint helmets, were unseated from the motorcycle. 



The woman died and the man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

The report said this remains an open and ongoing investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
