Lots of music planned for Gulf County
The music line-up for the next several weeks is chock full of great acts in Gulf County.
This Saturday, Sept. 14, from 3 to 8 p.m. ET, Windmark Beach will be the site of a Music Festival, featuring the Krickets, The Band Woods, the Thomas Merritt Band and Anthony Peebles.
On Saturday, Sept. 21, from noon until 4 p.m. come to the City Commons on Reid Avenue in Port St. Joe and enjoy PortOberfest, a “Wurst Fest in The Joe.”
The free event, sponsored by the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce, will feature live music from the German European folk music band The Europa Band, Oktober beer and bratwurst.
On Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6, in George Core Park in Port St. Joe, the sixth annual Forgotten Music Fest will feature John Nemeth, Shane Dwight, Eden Brent, The Lauren Spring Band, The Cinelli Brothers, the Bill Rigsby Band, Lil Skinny and Jkpopstar.
The Blast on the Bay Songwriters Festival, slated for Oct. 17 through 20 in Port St. Joe and around Gulf County has announced that its lineup will include, in alphabetical order, Sherrie Austin, Aaron Barker, Brian Bowen, Tim Buppert, Jason Byrd, Allison Clarke, Steve Dean, Emma Gibson, Dana Hunt-Black, Brooks Huntley, Brett Jones, Brett Kelly, Ronnie Kimball, Earl Bud Lee, Donny Lowery, Seth Michael, Jimmy Miller, Grace Morrison, Wil Nance, Wood Newton, Jean Nolan, Will Rambeaux, Jesse Rice, Alex Rohan, Jerry Salley, Pete Sallis, Lauren Spring, Victoria Venier, Ron Wallace, Matt Warren, Brian White, Bill Worrell and Emma Zinck.

David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
