Norma Jean Pippin Cowart, 92 of Wewahitchka, Florida, passed away September 3, 2024, at home with her family by her side.

She was born February 16, 1932, to the late Franklin Rudolph Sr. & Violet Rivers Pippin. Jean loved to travel and spend time with family and friends but her love for Jesus Christ was paramount. Even though she was called by many names (Mother, Grams, or Aunt Jean), she was most proud of being the Matriarch of her family. She was the definition of class and grace. She was extremely proud to be part of the Eastern Star: Chapter #229 and the Daughters of the Nile: Agape Temple #155 and she was a founding member of Dalkeith Baptist Church in Wewahitchka, Florida.

Jean was preceded in death by her father: Franklin Rudolph Sr, mother: Violet Rivers Pippin, stepfather: Robert Settlemire, sisters: Marion Williams, Alice M. Pippin, brothers: Vance E. Pippin, Franklin Rudolph (Rudy) Pippin Jr., James W. (Jimmy) Pippin, husbands: John W. Stanley Sr., B. Justin McDonald, Thomas J. Cowart, youngest son: Ronnie (Plug) Stanley, grandson: Matthew Stanley and great-grandchildren: Aaron & Jayzzmynn Stanley.

Jean is survived by her three sons; John W. Stanley Jr. (Ann), William F. (Frankie) Stanley, Lonnie H. Stanley (Debbie). Grandchildren, Bryce Stanley (Karen), Chasity Ferguson (Travis), Kyle Stanley (Jennifer), Missy Gore (John), Jason Hurst (Trina), Frankie Stanley, Stephen Stanley, Kayla Stanley, Tabitha Evans (Rusty), and Michael Cowart. Fifteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a long list of nieces and nephews. “Adoptive” sons: Edward (Hoagie) Nobles, Greg Williams, Greg Abrams, Joe Paul and a plethora of “adoptive” family members.

Viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2024, at Westside Baptist Church in Wewahitchka, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024, with Pastor Nick Davis presiding at Westside Baptist Church in Wewahitchka, Florida. Graveside services will commence at Jehu Cemetery following service. Arrangements are under the care of Heritage Funeral Home in Panama City, Florida.

Asked to serve as pallbearers are her great-grandsons, Josh McMullon, Jacob Stanley, Josh Stanley, Aydin Ferguson, Justyn Ferguson, Tripp McMullon, and Rhett Gore.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Vitas Hospice (Brittany and Jackie), Dr. Bataineh and a very special thank you to her nephew Franklin R. Pippin III (Little Rudy) for the exceptional care you gave our Mother and Grams.
