‘Meet the Candidates’ set for Aug.1
The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club will host a “Meet the Candidates” Gulf County Forum on Thursday, August 1.
As a nonpartisan organization, our club is committed to fostering civic engagement and empowering voters with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions at the polls.
This public forum offers residents an opportunity to hear directly from candidates running for local office. Attendees will have the chance to ask pertinent questions and gain valuable insights into the candidates’ platforms and visions for the county. By facilitating this dialogue, the GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club aims to bridge the gap between the candidates and the community, ensuring that voters are well-equipped to make educated choices in the upcoming elections.
The forum will be held at the Honeyville Community Center, a central and convenient location for all Gulf County residents. The event will begin promptly at 6 p.m. CT. We encourage all community members to attend and participate in this critical civic engagement opportunity. Meet the Editor
David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
