Three from Port St. Joe earn Troy’s academic distinction

Three Port St. Joe residents have received academic honors at Troy University for the spring semester/Term 4 of the 2023-24 academic year.

Jacob Tracy, of Port St. Joe, has been named to the Chancellor’s List, which honors full-time undergraduate students registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0.

Roman Quinn and Camille Trochessett were both placed on the Provost’s List, which includes full-time undergraduates registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65.



The Spring Semester includes students at the Troy, Alabama campus. Term 4 includes students at Troy’s campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Alabama, along with locations outside of Alabama and online.

Troy University is a public, historic, international university with 22,500 students and 154,000 alumni. Students on the Troy, Alabama campus enjoy a traditional college experience, while adult students are the centers of attention at campuses in Dothan, Montgomery and Phenix City, Alabama, as well as at locations around the world and online.



Meet the Editor

David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
