January 30, 1944 – October 15, 2023

Gerry was born on January 30, 1944 in New York to Lois Parker Valent of Greensboro, North Carolina & Andrew Valent of Budapest Hungary. Gerry received his BA from University of Miami in 1967 and went to work for Lums Restaurants in their real estate department based in Chicago Illinois where he met his wife, Marnie Lyons Valent who was employed as a Stewardess for Delta Air Lines. They were married in Miami, FI. in 1970 and spent the remainder of his life in South Florida. Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Andrew & Lois Valent, his brother, Michael Valent and his in-laws Cecil & Mary Lyons. He is survived by his wife of more than 53 years, Marnie Lyons Valent, Brother in law, Cecil Lyons (Beth), Sister in law Catherine Collier (Phil) and many Nieces & Nephews, as well as many friends. He had a sweet smile and a wonderful sense of humor that was not understood by many but he was loved by all who knew him. Rest in peace Gerry.
