Blues festival gets its jam on

Blues on Reid saw another successful year with crowds showing out Saturday before the music even began.

Each year, the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce organizes this free event for residents and visitors alike to enjoy the sounds of blues music filling the streets of downtown Port St. Joe. Five bands – Finga FAYA, Roger Hurricane Wilson, John Bull Trio, Meg Williams Trio and The Shaelyn Band – performed, each with energetic dancing and enthusiasm from the crowds. Headliners The Shaelyn Band closed the night out with a show stopping performance.

The event also offered the chance for visitors to shop around Reid Avenue at booths offering crafts and foods as well as the shops and restaurants lining the street as well.

The St. Joseph Bay Humane Society was among the many booths that showed up to the party with three puppies available for adoption. It was a complete success as Buster found his forever home, Rascal is pending adoption, and T-bone went home with his foster family.
