Troy announces fall semester academic honors
Troy University has announced students named to the Chancellor’s and Provost’s Lists for the Fall Semester and Term 2 of the 2024-25 academic year.
Avery Pharr, of Apalachicola, and Jackson Taunton, of Wewahitchka, have been named to the Chancellor’s List, which honors full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0.
Local students who made Provost’s List include Alex Strickland, of Wewahitchka, and Camille Trochessett, of Port St Joe. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65 qualify for the Provost’s List.
The Fall Semester includes students at the Troy, Ala., campus. Term 2 includes students at Troy’s campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with locations outside of Alabama and online.

David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
