Forgotten Coast Fishing Report

Look to your shallow inshore reefs for mangrove snapper; live or cut bait usually does the trick on a dropper rig.

The inshore fishing has really been good. Leading the charge have been sheepshead; look for pilings or rubble. Fiddler crabs will be the best bait, but shrimp also works. The whiting have been running out on the beaches. A piece of shrimp or fish bite seems to do the trick.

The crappie bite has been really good up on Dead Lakes; minnows or small jigs have been getting the job done. Also try creek mouths and brush piles.
