Tyndall base historian talks on Ben Franklin

The St. Joseph Bay Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held its October meeting at St. Joseph Bay Golf Club on Wednesday, Oct 23. The meeting was jam packed with numerous events.

First, members brought in canned food for our local food bank which was delivered to Two Fish in Port St. Joe, filling a huge need in our community. Fran Walters, chaplain, initiated our newest member, Susan Ivey into our chapter. Davida Carnahan, regent, presented Shirley Young with her certificate and pin for having been a member of DAR for 10 years.

Guest speaker Peter Coffman is from Tyndall Air Force Base and is the base historian. He gave a well-informed and excellent presentation about Benjamin Franklin, statesman, inventor, newspaper owner, and one of the most outstanding Founding Fathers. His presentation was full of interesting anecdotes and information about Franklin.
