Gators down FAMU for second win
The Wewahitchka Gators followers went home from Tallahassee in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers 40-30 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Wewahitchka advances its record to 2-6 on the season. The Gators travel to Jay to play the Royals in a Rural battle on Friday, Oct. 25. The Royals go into the battle with a record of 7-1. Jay won 34-0 in their recent league battle against Northview.
The Baby Rattlers now own a 0-8 record. They play next when they host St. John Paul II for a 1A District 1 battle on Friday, Oct. 25. FAMU DRS will play a Panthers team coming off a 22-19 non-league win over Rickards, whose record now stands at 4-4.

David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
