Forgotten Coast Fishing Report

Red snapper season is open now for three-day weekends, but keep in mind. The bite has been good from 70 to 200 feet of water on live and cut bait over high relief structure, and hard bottom. Gag grouper season runs through Sept. 16. Captain Jason Williams of Chasin Dreams charters reports that beeliners and triggerfish have been good in state waters from 80 to 100 feet. Black sea bass are also being caught on Z-Man Curly Paddle Tail.

Scallop season continues to be good with limits still being harvested. Scallopers, stop in BlueWater Outriggers as we just got in the new Happy Pirate’s Bootee Bags. Come see us, they won’t last long. Trout and redfish have been good in the morning as well as night fishing. White trout have been on fire in Indian Pass and flounder have been good in East Bay.

The freshwater bite has slowed down due to warm water, however, trot lines have been fair, using cut mullet and crawfish for bait.

For all you deer hunters, we just received a shipment of Big and J Apple BB2 deer attractant. Duck hunters, we haven’t forgotten you. We now carry an assortment of duck decoys as well. Until next week, don’t forget those lifejackets and hook up those lanyards. Good luck and tight lines.
