Holmes County downs Port St. Joe 44-36

The fourth quarter spelled trouble for the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks Friday night at home, as a pair of Holmes County scores lifted the Blue Devils to a 44-36 win.

Both teams scored in the first quarter, as Holmes County jumped to a 16-14, and they then widened the margin to 24-21 as both teams again traded touchdowns in the second quarter.

The Tiger Sharks outscored the Blue Devils 15-8 in the third quarter and led 36-32 headed into the fourth quarter.



But Holmes County added 12 points in the last quarter to secure the win.

Still looking for their first win, the Tiger Sharks head to Bristol Friday night to take on the Liberty County Bulldogs, who are also winless.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
