Library friends, club host seniors’ pool party

The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club recently partnered with the Friends of the Wewahitchka Library to host a delightful pool party and ice cream social for local senior citizens. The event, held on a beautiful overcast day with a refreshing breeze, provided a perfect setting for the seniors to unwind and enjoy themselves.

The pool party was a joyful affair, with Wewahitchka’s senior citizens wading in the pool, playing with beach balls and pool noodles, and even blowing bubbles. The carefree activities evoked fond memories of younger days, bringing smiles and laughter to all in attendance. The day was capped off with a sweet treat – each participant was served ice cream, adding a delicious ending to an already memorable event.

This pool party and ice cream social is just one of the many projects that the woman’s club organizes and participates in throughout the year. The club is dedicated to bringing joy and happiness to the community, and the positive impact of their efforts is felt by everyone involved, including the volunteers.

The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club invites you to help make a difference in their community by joining us. The club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Wewahitchka Community Building, 5:30 p.m. CT, as part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, which unites over 60,000 members dedicated to volunteer service, offering numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth.
