Wood carving demo set for June 13
A highlight of the Wonders of Wood exhibition at The Joe Center for the Arts will be a wood carving demonstration by Iosia Luka, set for Thursday, June 13, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The subject of Luka’s carving is “Upecki,” or Samoan floral art. After it’s finished, a drawing will be held, and a lucky member of the audience will take home a piece of wood art by a master carver.
Artists featured in The Wonders of Wood exhibition, which is free and open to the public and runs through June 21, are, from left: George Lautt (with JP), Art Peters, Ronnie Segree, Iosia Luka, Michael Boyle, Nancy McFarland, Skip Marlin, and Charlie Supplee.
