Grateful for those who preserve town’s history
I just wanted to shout out a big Thank You to local businessmen Ralph Rish and David Warriner for engineering the deal to save more of our local history here in Port St. Joe. In the normal “Race to Riches” that seems to drive most developers, it is nice to see these two fine gentlemen continue to take the long view and work together to preserve the history of Port St. Joe.
The Chateau, which has been a part of St. Joe history for many years, has been relocated and saved, instead of being torn down, and we in Port St. Joe thank you for that. Both of these gentlemen have a history of investing in the preservation of our town’s past. David preserved the old St. Joe Motel site and continues to operate the upgraded version as the Port Inn, and Ralph has worked to save our favorite oyster eatery, Indian Pass Raw Bar. These are just a few of their many local efforts to keep our town’s history alive, so thank them when you next see them!
Of course there are many other leaders of our community who continue to invest in Port St. Joe and our history, and I hope they don’t feel slighted by not being mentioned by name here. We citizens of Port St. Joe say Thank You to all of you for preserving our town’s unique history.
Sincerely,
Dusty May
