Thau exhibit continues in Carrabelle
The paintings of Cyndi Thau continue to be on display at the Gallery at Rio Carrabelle at 102 St James Ave. in Carrabelle through the end of August. Her works have included murals, mosaics, bead work and painting, especially en plein air oil painting with a glazing technique.

Members’ Art Market in Port St. Joe
The Joe Center for the Arts invites the public to its third annual Members’ Art Market
Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists while viewing works of all kinds in a wide variety of style, subject and media.
The show runs through Sept. 15. Admission is free. The Joe is located at 201 Reid Ave in downtown Port St Joe. Its hours are Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. EDT and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT. The Joe Center for the Arts is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to educate, exhibit partner and inspire through the arts.
Apalach Farmers Market Saturday

Museum continues atomic bomb exhibit
Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum in Carrabelle is presenting a special exhibit about the Atomic Bomb and the End of World War II, through Saturday, August 26. This exhibit includes artifacts relevant to the surrenders, Nuremberg trials related documents, occupation souvenirs from Japan and photos of post-war Germany.
The museum at 1873 Highway 98 West is open every Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 pm. Admission is free, but donations are gladly accepted. The museum can be reached at (850) 697-8575 or at museum@campgordonjohnston.com
Meet the Editor
David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
