LeAnn Coulter named Wewahitchka Woman’s Club Volunteer of the Year
The Wewahitchka Woman’s Club named LeAnn Coulter their Volunteer of the Year at their March meeting.
Coulter is married to Timothy Coulter, and they have three wonderful children and three grandchildren.
They have a small hobby farm in Kinard, where they raise goats, donkeys, pigs, ducks, dogs and cats. They also own Scott’s Ferry General Store, Campground and The Landing Lodge, which keeps them very busy. But Coulter still found time to volunteer many hours for her club.
She is no stranger to volunteering, as she started in 2011 serving many roles as a volunteer while working with Georgia Pacific for Relay for Life in Brewton, Alabama and continued to do so when she moved to Florida.
The Wewahitchka Woman’s Club was glad Coulter found her way to our town and even more so when she became a member of the club. She was named Volunteer of the Year because of her outgoing personality, her can-do attitude, for living the volunteer spirit and for being a valued member of our club.
Coulter became a member of the Wewa Woman’s Club in 2020 and quickly became an asset to the organization. She is not shy, she is willing to step right in and do whatever is needed and she is confident and does not let much phase her. She always has a smile on her face and is always dependable.
In no time at all, Coulter volunteered to chair our biggest fundraiser. Due to her leadership and managerial skills, we knew that the day of the fundraiser, all the supplies needed would be ready, orders written up, delivery schedules made and tasks assigned.
During the Bertha Swamp Road Fire in Bay/Gulf County last spring, which was close to her farm, she immediately started making plans and calling on clubwomen and organized a home cooked meal that fed 100 exhausted and appreciative firefighters. We are proud of Coulter as she lives the volunteer spirit, for she is GFWC.
The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at Glad Tidings Assembly of God’s fellowship hall in Wewahitchka. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, April 11. We invite you to join us to learn more about the club and see how you can be a part of an 87-year-old organization. By being a volunteer, you can make a positive difference in your community and more. Contact us at gfwcwewawomansclub@gmail.com.
