Port St. Joe girls basketball earns comeback win against Lincoln
The Port St. Joe girls basketball team spotted 6A Lincoln High School a 16-11 first quarter lead before clawing back in the second half to win 52-47 on Tuesday, December 20.
Senior point guard Jae Lenox led the Shark charge with 26 points, including three 3-pointers, six rebounds and six assists.
Junior Ty’Shawn Shackleford added 12 points and six rebounds, while senior Mari Johnson scored eight and pulled down 18 boards. Johnson has averaged 21 rebounds over the last three St. Joe games.
Junior Alonah Segree scored four points to go along with her five rebounds, and eighth grader Jayla Hills scored two points and also had five boards.
With the Trojans holding a 28-23 halftime lead, the Tiger Sharks outscored Lincoln 16-9 in the third period and 13-10 in the final quarter to secure the win and even their season record at 4-4.

Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
