Water in Wewahitchka to remain off for several hours
Water for the City of Wewahitchka was shut off Saturday morning. Officials say this is due to a maintenance issue.
According to a press release from the city, the water is expected to remain off for two to four hours.
After the water is restored, a precautionary water boil notice will be in place until further notice.
It is advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled before use or consumption. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
The City of Wewahitchka can be reached at 850‐639‐2605.
This report will be updated as more information becomes available.
